STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The New South
Wales Department of Education and Training recognises that good
discipline is fundamental to the achievement of Government
priorities for the public school system. In 2006 the Department
of Education and Training issued a new Student Discipline in
Government Schools policy and requested schools to review
their current policy.
In 2006
the staff, students and parents at Gardeners Road Public School
reviewed the current school discipline policy and practices.
This review has resulted in the development of a new
School
Discipline Policy that includes:

school rules
·
rights and responsibilities
·
strategies to manage inappropriate student behaviour
·
strategies to promote positive student behaviour
·
strategies to recognise and reinforce student achievement
The Gardeners Road
Public School Discipline Policy reflects the policy, practices
